About us

Experience is a boutique creative consultancy and our philosophy is simple - the “experience is everything”. This focuses us and drives us to create stand-out experiences for real people – whatever the technology, channel or location. We’ve been doing it since 2006. 

We deliver everything from brand and digital strategy to research, content and information architecture, user experience, interface design and user testing to development and delivery management. We're known for our collaborative working style and work closely with our client and their partners to understand problems, set goals, activate projects and, together with a team of specialist consultants, deliver great solutions. 

We’ve seen significant changes in the way our clients now deliver projects, especially in the digital space. Our clients are more capable at business-as-usual project delivery and look to inject fresh, honest perspectives and specialised capability from outside their organisations. We aim to provide this capability – challenging our clients with real customer insights, new thinking and innovation to transform how they deliver information and services in an increasingly digital world.

Kaupapa Māori values are integral to our business and we bring these perspectives to every project we deliver. Our specialist team includes leaders in kaupapa Māori visual design and diversity-led experience and transformational learning design.

Our studio is located in Wellington, the coolest little capital in the world with specialist consultants located throughout New Zealand. 

Experience is a member of the New Zealand Government Web Services Panel, and Design Panel.

JOHN MOORE

Director of creative excellence with 25+ years experience in advertising, design and digital. Bends ideas, minds and systems to deliver leading digital experiences and solutions.

TANIA GOULD-SMITH

Accounts and studio manager. Keeps us all sane with her patience and level head. Has her finger on the finances, the coffee supply and the needs of clients. Event planner extraordinaire.

We're lucky enough to work in Wellington, the coolest little capital in the world. Our studio operates from Āpōpō CreativeTech Hub – just off Courtenay Place, strolling distance to the Embassy Theatre, Waitangi Park, Te Papa and our favourite restaurant – Field & Green.
